A game...

Things of mine to see:

This is how I spend my time in Java class, and then how I spend several hours outside of class recreating it...

I promise it's a safe binary. The source is available if you want to see it, too.

Things of mine to see:

Just a quick post here...

I'M SCREWED! I'm supposed to have a rough draft of a 5-7 page research paper prepared for tomorrow and I only have one paragraph done and my brain is already fried. I NEED SLEEP and there's no way I can finish this tomorrow by the time I need it done. The actual finished draft is due Monday, and I'm required to speak this stupid topic on Tuesday. I'm still pissed about that.

I really don't see why we have to give it a third go because one person decided not to do it. I really have to thank this person.....

UGH!!!!!!!

English Class

Things of mine to see:

Today was interesting in English class. We wrote stories, but only one paragraph at a time. It was interesting because we got to write a beginning, middle, and end of four completely different stories.

The story below is the one that I started. The first paragraph is my writing, and the following three are written by classmates, and are hereby credited while remaining unnamed. It remains completely unedited save for any automatic corrections Word may have made and any typos or inadvertent revisions I may have made. Please read (it's short) and tell me what you think.

I might even work with what's there and make something shiny out of it.

That Story Sorta Thing

Things of mine to see:

It was a dark and stormy night when she was discovered. She was nameless as she lay on the floor. There was no sign of the crime in the modern two-story home; all the evidence had already been destroyed. He had already made sure of that fact. Jack thought he was in the clear.

Jack thought his evil plan had worked and he was home free. That was before he knew about Smith a detective that never fails. Even though all the evidence was destroyed Smith was in the know about Jack. Jack still thinking that he was the smartest murderer around was about to be introduced to Smith.

Boy, was Jack wrong. His amazing helper person Sha-nay-nay was getting all up in the way with the whole murder thing. Jack was starting to think Sha-nay-nay was going crazy when in reality he was going crazy. Smith started to follow Jack around. He wasn’t the obvious type though. He disguised himself as different people. He was a different person each day.
His disguises however showed a distinctive pattern. Hed be a woman every two days and a bearded man in between. He changed small details. However he finally was caught between the moon + NY city. By a man named of Shelby. In the midst of

an underline indicates that I am unsure of the writer's handwriting and have made an educated guess.

I'm a bad wolfie...

Things of mine to see:

I really should be doing homework right now, even though it is 11:30. I should be finishing my research paper for English. The dreaded Junior paper.....................................

I'm really far behind on it too. The entire project is due on Monday, and my speech is due on Tuesday. I haven't even started writing the first draft of the paper because I'm a dumbass and I haven't even finished reading all the research materials I printed out. And of course, bad gets worse because I have other school assignments being assigned over top of that. Ugh.

I'm really pissed that we're giving speeches again. We already gave speeches TWICE, and there are only supposed to be two attempts at the objective per state requirements, but we're giving it a THIRD whirl because one jackass didn't give a speech the first time. So apparently, because one person is irresponsible, we all have to suffer.

I think the fact that we have to give speeches again is blamed solely on the everyone-deserves-a-trophy mentality the school system in my area has adopted. If you even try at the very least, you get one point per descriptor on the grading rubric. This means that absolutely bombing it will still warrant you a 40 percent or something like that, whereas realistically, that should be a zero. However by the state's rules, EVERYONE HAS TO GET SOMETHING FOR TRYING!!! What's the matter with people these days? It's like we're too afraid of hurting someone's feelings to say that they failed. Instead we get ratings like "Beginning", "Progressing", "Proficient", and "Advanced". It's just crap. If you failed, you failed; if you passed, you passed. There should be no "Oh, you tried, so we'll give you something" involved. Does the average workplace function like this? As far as I'm aware, no.

It just makes me mad that even though I gave two speeches and some other idiot chose to not even attempt it once, I still have to prepare to speak again. I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING. The closet thing to public speaking that I think I might enjoy is perhaps acting...........

Anyways, sorry I went off on a rant about how retarded the system that is supposed to make us "well-rounded, contributing members of society" (smart) really is.

The time has sonehow gotten to a quarter until midnight. If I want to function tomorrow, I must go to bed relatively soon. Unfortunately, no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise, sleep is a basic necessity for the sustaining of life in any organism. So that I must do. I wish you all the best in your attempts at this precious resource.

Wasting a Five Day Weekend

Things of mine to see:

I managed to do almost nothing this past five days. Today, however, I did do a little bit of something.

I moved my new computer out of the depths of the basement. \\Angela now has no wireless card and lives in the basement, but \\Kripto now is awesome enough to live upstairs. I have some pictures to share of how happy \\Kripto is in its new home.

I also re-fixed the speakers in those photos. The channels were fused into one because when I replaced the broken stereo plug, I put a jack from a broken guitar amp in. The guitar amp was a mono audio source, so they fused the left and right channels to the single source. I didn't realize this before, so when I finally did, I had to take a utility knife and cut the copper out from between the two contacts. In that process, I broke one of the wires off the solder connection, so I had to solder it back on, too. But thankfully now it works right.

Well, it's not about 11:45. I need to shower and sleep so I can go to school tomorrow and all that boring stuff...

Things of mine to see:

I hate my sinuses. They're now acting up to the point that I can bre;y breathe out my nose, I have a sore throat, and also have a runny nose. I really hate being sick, because I go to school anyways because I'd rather be miserable in school than fall behind and need to catch up....

Today in my networking class we had a guest speaker. He was telling us about AFCEA. I'm kinda interested in joining it because he said it presents a lot of opportunities for professional networking, which would be to my advantage. My dad said it would probably be a smart thing for me to do, too.

Uhh.....

Things of mine to see:

I've been writing again recently. I haven't written anything with any purpose whatsoever in at least a month. Here's a VERY brief synopsis of what I've been writing:
*I've tried to pick up on Fleeing The Scene.
*I've begun a new work, and it involves the Half-Life universe. Since that's technically illegal to post a derivative of a copyrighted work, it will remain in my personal library rather than becoming a distributed piece. It will join many a crappy poem and far-too-personal short story.

Well, it's that time for me. I'm trying to be better about going to bed some time before the next day. I'm finding it difficult, but hopefully it will work out in the long run.

Things of mine to see:

I'm stupid. I bought an expensive keyboard for my computer. To be exact, a $40 keyboard. The awesome part, though, is that it glows! It has blue LEDs under the keys. Also, it's rather heavy, heavy enough that I can comfortably rest my palms on the wrist rest and not move the keyboard around. It's definitely an upgrade from the IBM M series I was using (The IBM M Series was made in '95 and has mechanical switches), and it's several times quieter. The one I got was the Saitek Eclipse in blue.

It's nice, but I really shouldn't have bought it. I should have saved my money to buy a monitor for my computer. $200 is a lot for me to save up quickly, considering I get paid about $8 a week for the paper route that I want to quit, $10 a week in allowance, sometimes opportunities to do housework for money, and absolutely no source of income outside of that. I want to get a job in retail somewhere along the line. I want to avoid working in "food service" if at all possible. Since I can do enough math to estimate tax and give change, I would think it shouldn't be too hard to get a job as a cashier. I still think that the main reason that I didn't get the job at Best Buy was because of my age, which is really screwy. That and my strange schedule, having from 6 to close on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and all day on the weekends...

Whatever, though. That's the past, and while I know I shouldn't dwell on it, I always do. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I'd made different choices, but who doesn't? What if I had never decided to come to terms with my therianthropy? What if I had never told Miss Allen about 'me'? Unfortunately for me, these sort of questions pose themselves to me on a regular basis. All I can say is that right now, I think I am in a fairly good place and I know I couldn't have gotten here if things happened differently.

Anyways, now that I've shown I spend too much money on flashy items, have no job, and doubt my decisions years after I made them, I think I'll let you all move on with whatever it was you were doing before reading this somehow crossed your mind.
